Steak Houses can be a challenge for gluten-free dining because of so many of the delicious sauces and hidden gluten. Upon preparing to order at Perry’s Steak House and Grille, you will be pleasantly surprised to see that there are many gluten-free options marked on the menu. That is a huge sign of relief for anyone living a gluten-free lifestyle by choice or necessity. You know it can be annoying trying to order gluten-free and the server doesn’t even know what that is, so the manager is called and the manger is just as confused…..It doesn’t instill much confidence in the restaurant. So now you are left ordering the safest thing you can possibly find on the menu but still worried it might be contaminated, which is usually a salad without croutons.
Well, Perry’s has gluten-free food options for YOU! YAY! I frequent Perry’s in Friendswood, Tx. I’ve ordered the lobster bisque, caesar salad without croutons, various steaks, scallops, escargot and grilled beet, grapefruit and creamy feta salad. My thoughts on these dishes are as follows…

Taste of the Lobster Bisque was beyond delicious, as I am writing about it, my mouth is watering. I can’t even explain how mind-blowingly delicious it was! It’s great to know they made it gluten-free since everywhere else I’ve tried to order it was not gluten-free. 11/10
Taste of the Escargot was ok, only because it had a sweet flavor that I didn’t expect and I am not a big fan of sweets. Escargot I’ve had usually has buttery and salty flavors so I rate it 5/10
Taste of Grilled Beet, grapefruit and Creamy Feta Salad was also ok. It was missing some kind of flavor to make it pop. It was good but seemed a little bland. 6/10
Caesar salad is always a winner in my book. Just remove the croutons and you are safe. The flavor is rich and satisfying to the taste buds. 10/10
Creme Brulee is always a safe gluten-free option and it did not disappoint. 10/10
Their attention to gluten-free food 11/10
When I received my escargot it had bread on it. I sent it back and a manager immediately came to my table to apologize and assure me they would remake it gluten-free as requested. I loved their attention and how seriously they take gluten-free food. Would I eat gluten-free here again? I will definitely go back for the bisque and try different gluten-free dishes. These are just some of the gluten-free options at Perry’s steakhouse. They also have gluten-free bread upon request.
This was my gluten-free restaurant review for Perry’s Steakhouse. I always feel safe at Perry’s. Managers will come by and check that i did receive my gluten-free food as ordered. I’ve been informed sometimes they take longer because they change their gloves and have a separate area to handle gluten-free food. If you are worried to eat out, I can vouch that I have always felt safe there but I always to check and make sure it looks safe. At the end of the day, human error can occur. If you are doubtful ask them to confirm your dish is gluten-free.
