7 Kombucha Benefits and why YOU should be drinking it

You may have heard of kombucha and you’re wondering what is all the commotion and what the heck is it???!?!  Kombucha is a fermented drink made of black tea and sugar. It has B vitamins, enzymes and probiotics.  Here’s how it can help your health:

  1.  The probiotics will help support your digestion and gut health.
  2. It helps detoxify the body with all the powerful antioxidants.  The antioxidants can help reduce inflammation and protect against disease.
  3. Research shows that kombucha can benefit your heart health.  It seems it can help regulate cholesterol naturally by raising the good cholesterol and lowering the bad cholesterol.
  4. Kombucha benefits the liver as well by protecting it from oxidative stress.
  5. It can help destroy bad bacteria in the body that can cause infections.
  6. Kombucha could help with weight loss with its probiotics, reducing inflammation, and helping balance blood sugar levels.
  7. Some evidence tells us drinking kombucha can help with depression.  Kombucha helps with inflammation and there is a link between inflammation and depression.

If you are interested, start with small servings to see how you feel.  It has a very distinct flavor. There are several that I’ve tried.  I think a good beginner brand is Health-Ade Kombucha.  It doesn’t have very strong flavor.  I personally like Boocha Boocha Kombucha and GTS Synergy.  Lately GTS Synergy has been great for mocktails!
